A Christmas Story with Father Christmas

Join us for a very special storytime with Father Christmas!

This year, Father Christmas will be sharing the tale of Samuel Johnson and his search for the definition of Christmas.

There’ll even be a chance for grown-ups to take a photo of their little ones with Father Christmas during the session.

What to expect
• A 30-minute festive story session with Father Christmas
• The story of Samuel Johnson’s search for the definition of Christmas
• A chance for adults to take photographs of their children with Father Christmas
• A shared family experience, with several families enjoying the session together
Please note this is a storytime experience rather than a traditional grotto visit. Father Christmas will be sharing his story with the whole group, so there won’t be individual one-to-one time, or a private grotto visit with each family.

Important ticket information

Tickets are £5 per person. All adults and children aged 3 and over need their own ticket. Children under 3 (babes in arms) can attend for free and do not require a ticket.

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times, and adults must be accompanied by children, this is a family event, after all!

Tickets must be pre-booked through our website. Spaces are limited, so booking in advance is essential.
Please note that tickets are non-refundable.

Best of all, your ticket helps to support the museum and the work we do, so by joining us for a little Christmas magic, you’re helping us keep the magic of the museum alive too.

Please note: we do not resell tickets online, and we are not affiliated with any third-party ticket sellers or social media resellers. To help protect our guests from fraud, please do not purchase tickets from unofficial sources, as we cannot verify their validity or guarantee entry.

Access information
The event will take place on the first floor of the museum, which can only be accessed by stairs. Due to the building’s Grade I listed status we are unable to install a lift.
